1. Work with an experienced coach in your area and try and attend some beginner classes. If you do not have a studio close to you. Attend a classes online or work one on one with an online pole instructor. Mobility Dance has this option for you.
2. Buy a pole for home. You cannot change my mind. Save up for a good quality pole. It took me 7 years to get my nice pole. It's worth every penny. Your training will improve when you can take what you learned and practice at home.
3. If you don't have a pole at home you can still condition and stretch at home. Start with strengthening your core and work on flexibility. You'll notice a huge difference in your training when you start.
4. Start following beginner pole dancers on social media. Why? Sometimes watching advanced polers do advanced moves can be intimidating. Even though the most advanced polers have all started where you are. Obviously follow advanced polers because you can learn a lot but just don't compare yourself when your first starting out.
5. Start making friends who are around the same level as you. You can grow together and often you end up making friends for life. You can share frustrations and accomplishments with someone who understands how hard it can get. You'll have someone cheering you on while your cheering them on. Plus if you have questions you can always send them messages.
6. Just take the damn class! It took my friend to force me to go to my first class because I was scared. I didn't know what to think and I was sad I didn't start sooner. A lot of the girls who took their first class with me felt the exact same way as I did. It wasn't at scary when we were all at the same level just trying to figure this out.
