How to pick a pole

  1. Powder coated poles are really pretty but can damage really easily due to jewellery wear so you have to be careful. Powder coated poles also have a pretty good grip. This can be really good or not so good. The reason is, sometimes you can stick too much to this pole and it can cause pole burn. In my opinion these are really good for intermediate for when you need the grip on more advanced moves.

  2. Stainless steal is one of the most versatile Materials for poles as they don't typically cause allergies like nickel can. It has a medium stick for grip and is perfect for beginner spins to advanced.

  3. Brass is one of the best poles materials. It has one of the best pole grip rating for me. However the downside is the finish will wear off exposing the nickle which can cause allergies.

  4. Silicone is a good material if you would like to wear clothing like like long sleeves and tights while pole dancing. The downside is it isn't recommended to use this pole without covering as you could damage your skin.

  5. Pole stage? Fixed? Pressure mounted? What's the difference? The difference is the stage is portable and connects only at the base. The fixed pole attachment can turn your pressure mounted pole into fixed pole that is secured to the ceiling. The pressure mounted pole is only portable where you can mount it to the ceiling to floor.

All are very good options, when choosing a pole keep your goals and your space in mind. Good luck!
