OOPS! I became an aerialist.

Said no one ever but that's kinda what happened to me. In 2020 I was a new mom during the start of the pandemic. Not only was I alone and isolated from my support system but I was also foreign in my own body. I wasn't alone. It was a weird time.

We were all trying to pass the time and some of us picked up new and old hobbies. I decided that it would be a good time to set up my pole again. My brain still remembered a lot of the moves. After all how hard could it be?

I just was so wrong. So wrong it hurt in every way. The first time I got into pole. I wasn't as heavy. Which made a difference because it took me longer to climb the pole. Longer to do the basics.

I saw an open house for circus activities and one I had always knew I'd love was aerial silks. I literally touched the silks and fell in love so hard and fast. I looked for a rig for at home that night.

I was able to find the silki attachment for my pole and consulted an expert in aerial and circus arts for how to setup my rig. As I was concerned for my safety.

I am celebrating 2 years on the polesilks and discovered I was way too hard on myself for so many reasons that I had no control over.

I learned a lot about my core, my motor function and my gut health which all played a huge factor in maintaining and training.
